MUR Geometric Sculpture Cube Desk Art

New MUR mini handcrafted Fibonacci Cube art was designed by African American artist Garth Harvey. My interpretation of rectangular cuboid art is called Fibonacci cube art because each cube is designed base on the golden ratio. The golden ratio is an irrational number sequence that was identified in nature.

My inspiration for this kind geometric art is based on antiquity. Some of the ancient cultures I have had the opportunity to explore are Khmer empire (Cambodia), Incas (Peru) and the ancient Egyptian/Kemetian civilizations. I have drawn inspiration from all of these cultures to bring forth a new kind of artistic energy that is reminiscent of the ancients artistic expression.

MUR Lifestyle Cube’s Construction

MUR geometric sculpture cubes are made out of clay and copper. Each cube has a textured rugged design around the mid-section and base of the pyramid. This texture aspect of the cube was done to create natural earthen feel to each cuboid. The top portion of the cube is smooth and was created to have a marble look and feel.
